The SRJ team would like to thank all those who attended our seminar, Social Media Marketing: an Integrated Approach, this past Friday at the Hilton Dallas/Park Cities. We had an awesome turnout that included attendees from all ages and professional backgrounds.
Everyone was eager to learn more about the phenomenon of social media marketing and how to integrate it into traditional marketing plans, and judging from the feedback, they were not disappointed.
Following a brief background overview of my experiences as a professional and the 20-year history of SRJ, I then introduced everyone to the concept of social media marketing and gave a broad overview of how it fits into the marketing “puzzle”.
After the introduction, everyone was encouraged to take ten minutes or so to meet at least two new people in the room. If you are at all familiar with me, you know that I am a huge proponent of networking, online or otherwise. Business is about connections, and what a better way to meet somebody that has similar interests than to meet them at an industry-specific seminar.
Armando Gonzalez, an SRJ account executive, came up after the break and offered detailed outlines of the main social media sites and their uses. Citing Jack in the Box and Sprinkles Cupcakes among others, he gave examples how businesses are currently integrating social media into their marketing campaigns.
Next, our creative director, Chris Kinsman, spoke briefly about brand integrity before we got into one of my favorite portions of any seminar, the question and answer section. We had some awesome questions from those in attendance and it is always one of the most informative parts of the seminar.
Friday reminded me of how much I enjoy public speaking and seminars. They are an excellent chance to educate and make connections with those who are either established peers or are at the very least interested in what you have to say. Social media marketing is an amazing tool in the marketing toolbox and any chance we get to share this idea with others is energizing.
For those who missed the seminar on Friday, you are more than welcome to give me a call at 214-528-5775, I would love to set up a free consultation to discuss social media marketing or any other marketing need you may have.
