Healthcare communications strategist discusses methods to improve market share.
DALLAS (Oct. 29, 2012) – Steven R. Jolly, founder and principal of SRJ Marketing Communications (www.srj.net), was a featured speaker at the 2012 Fall Urgent Care Conference in New Orleans, La., on Oct. 26, 2012.
Designed to immerse urgent care clinic representatives in an intensive training and networking opportunity, the conference featured four program tracks that included clinical master classes, urgent care marketing, comprehensive clinic startup, and advance financial management.
Participating in the marketing track, Jolly leveraged his 32-year career to focus his presentations on the importance of strategic planning for a successful marketing communications program and how high-value marketing programs can create the return-on-investment urgent care clinics seek.
“I think the most important take-away that participants left with was that all of their ideas were great, but it comes down to having a strategic plan that will help them manage their budget and monitor success,” Jolly explained. “Consistent exposure will create awareness, and that will ultimately result in sales. The key is having the right strategy in place.”
With more than 25 years in healthcare marketing, Jolly’s approach to marketing communication is an integrated one. Since launching his agency in 1989, Jolly and his team have remained focused primarily on helping healthcare facilities improve both internal and external communications.
According to Jolly, a successful healthcare facility will not only commit to a comprehensive communications program that focuses on external stakeholders, but internal ones as well.
“Knowledgeable team members with a keen sense of customer service will create positive patient satisfaction. One of the best marketing methods is word-of-mouth, and what better way to promote your clinic than to have patients and community members become champions of your brand,” Jolly said.
The Fall Urgent Care Conference is sponsored by the Urgent Care Association of American and the Urgent Care College of Physicians, and is just one of many educational opportunities the organizations put together for their members. For more information on the conference, please visit www.ucaoa.org.
