Healthcare community needs assessment was designed to identify areas of improvement.
DALLAS (March 15, 2011) – SRJ Marketing Communications (www.srj.net) recently presented Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital (www.rpmh.net) with a healthcare community needs assessment that determined the strength of programs and services offered by the hospital, as well as areas of opportunity and improvement.
“Studies like this reveals important and sometimes critical information for healthcare providers, especially in rural areas,” said Steven R. Jolly, principal of SRJ. “The results can dramatically change long-term planning and create opportunities for not only the hospital, but for the community they serve.”
This healthcare assessment is an essential element in long-term planning of future programs and services. The result of the healthcare needs assessment for the community Nolan County helped identify underserved populations, specialty services that lacked availability, and the barriers of communication.
The survey was created via digital and print mediums and distributed via the World Wide Web and traditional vehicles, including: insertion in Sweetwater Reporter, community gathering places, local clubs and organizations, and places of worship. Community responses were collected from March 1 through March 21, 2011.
According to Jolly, assessments like the one created for Rolling Plains Memorial provides vital information to the well-being of a community, not just in terms of customer service; but it also improves a hospital’s funding for need-based programs.
